The results of "The Best Private Investment 2012" competition
On December 17, 2012 at 18.45 the biggest Exchange's competition — "The Best Private Investor, 2012" was completed.
4,064 private traders (out of 5,479 traders registered) took part in the competition, where they were performing operations in different trading instruments of the Securities, Derivatives and FX Markets of the Moscow Exchange.
The total value of the Trading participants" initial assets equaled apprx. RUB3 billion. During the competition, the Russian market was down 1.2% according to the RTS Index and 1.4% according to the MICEX Index. However, the resulting yield demonstrated by the participants was 1.9% from the initial assets.
The trading volume of the participants amounted to RUB1.8 trillion for two months and a half. Competitors traded 84 securities of Russian issuers, all instruments of the FORTS Derivatives market and the
USD/Rub and EUR/RUB currency pairs of the Moscow Exchange FX Market.
As for the main categories, 1,995 participants traded securities of Russian issuers and 1,365 participants traded Derivatives Market instruments. 139 private investors competed on the FX Market.
As for the extra categories, 234 traders were competing in the "The Best Active Trader" category and 526 participants struggled for the title of the Best Strategist. The number of participants of "The Best Trader-Millionaire" category reached 500. 1,186 investors contended for the championship in "The Best Blue-Chips Trader" this year. 12 investors were trading in the category "The Best Sofcommodities Trader".

Pavel Sorokovoy (BCS Company, LLC) is the best manager of the competition. Aleksandr Kusmartsev (Sberbank of Russia) and Maksim Tolchinskiy (Sberbank of Russia) took the second and the third places. Sberbank of Russia and Alfa-Bank are recognized as the best brokers of the competition.

"The Best Investor 2012" competition is organized by the Moscow Exchange.
