Moscow Exchange Forum Held in London
Moscow Exchange Forum was held in London on 3 July 2013. More than 200 delegates from leading international financial market participants and investors attended the event at the Andaz Hotel on Liverpool Street to discuss the potential of Russian financial market.
Among the speakers were representatives from the Moscow Exchange senior management: CEO Alexander Afanasiev, Deputy CEO Andrey Shemetov, Head of IT Sergey Polyakov, and CEO of the National Settlement Depositary Eddie Astanin. Tim Talkington, Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, and Vitaly Sergeychuk of Russia's Federal Agency for State Property Administration took part in the panel discussion.
Speakers highlighted the key achievements of 2012 such as the establishment of a central securities depository, opening up the bond market to Euroclear and Clearstream and upgrading the settlement of Russian securities to T+2. In addition, a number of projects in the pipeline were announced, including the transfer of all securities to the T+2 model and the upcoming closure of the T0 system, making equities eligible for Euroclear and Clearstream settlement services by July 2014. Speakers also addressed corporate governance reforms as well as the modernization of listing procedures.
